No Longer Invisible

So I had a different blog post set for today, but decided to change it up after someone sent me this video. I promised myself that I would never get political or too opinionated on this blog, but this morning I felt compelled to at least share with all of you something that weighs heavy on my heart. Perhaps staring at my baby girl, who was lucky enough to be born here has persuaded me to put this out there for you all to hear.

I’m not sure how many of you have heard of Invisible Children and the overnight movement called Kony2012, but if not here it is. There has been a war going on in Uganda for far too long, where over 30,000 children have been taken from their families and homes and been forced to kill their siblings, friends, parents, and others to maintain Joseph Kony’s power. I first saw the documentary Invisible Children while in college and have been haunted by the reality of what these children are facing ever since. Feeling helpless I, along with others, haven’t known how to help – but now there is a way.

Please just take the 29 minutes to watch this video and share it with others – just click the image and it’ll take you to the YouTube video.

You won’t regret it.

Have a blessed day!

Katie
